Amaryllis Motawi Framed Tile

This design is adapted from a finely detailed four-piece panel attributed to Leon Victor Solon while he was working at Mintons. The original is featured in a book by antique tile experts Sandie Fowler and Wendy Harvey, who own the original piece themselves. Motawi tiles are made with a custom mix of clays and pressed from original plaster molds. Every tile is hand-glazed and embossed on the back for authenticity. At approximately 5/8 inches thick, every tile has a notch in the back for hanging unframed. Made in the USA. To clean, wipe with a damp cloth using mild soap. Framed with quarter-sawn oak handmade by Dard Hunter Studios, this tile can hang horizontally or vertically, or perch on a large easels. Frame features include mitered corners and stapled joints. Ceramic with solid wood frame. Measures 7.5 x 15.5 in.
