This landmark photographic book was originally published in 1938 and limited to only five hundred copies. Its fifty photographs by Ansel Adams are of the Sierra Nevada range in California, taken along the John Muir Trail, which follows the crest from Yosemite to Mount Whitney.
This special reissue, designed and produced by Arion Press in 2006, was again limited to only five hundred numbered copies. The photographs are printed to exacting standards and are individually tipped in, as were the plates in the original edition. It is printed by letterpress from handset type on mouldmade paper and is bound largely by hand with high quality materials and a linen exterior. Hardcover with slipcase. 224 pages.
