Chinoiserie is a 17th- and 18th-century Western style of interior design that represents fanciful European interpretations of Chinese styles. Yet, chinoiserie is no longer what it used to be. As a contemporary designer Guo Pei is consciously engaging with and subverting conceptual categories such as chinoiserie and export art and the designer takes this tradition and makes it her own re-imagined fashion. This exclusive compact mirror features an exclusive design by Guo Pei from her 1002 Nights collection and was created in celebration of the exhibition Guo Pei: Couture Fantasy at the Legion of Honor museum in San Francisco. Easy to take on-the-go, this square aluminium printed compact is perfectly paired with the matching Guo Pei tote bag for a complete look. Measures 2.25 x 2.25 x .5 in.
