Judy Chicago The Creation Scarf

This 100% silk twill scarf features Judy Chicago's imagery from her Creation tapestry, which was the first textile piece that Chicago started when she began working on birth and creation imagery. It is a visual narrative that challenges Michelangelo’s concept that creation takes place by a male god reaching out his finger and creating “man.” Represented instead is a female deity who gives birth to woman who gives source to all life. Original tapestry design by Judy Chicago; weaving by Audrey Cowan. Measures 24 x 72 in.

The de Young museum in San Francisco celebrates pioneering feminist artist Judy Chicago with a retrospective spanning from the 1960s to the present. The exhibition includes around 150 works and related archival material that chart the boundary-pushing path of Chicago whose lifelong fight against the erasure of women's achievement and creativity have changed the course of history.

    Beautiful and practical wearable art

The Judy Chicago scarf is a wonderful piece of wearable art. The work on which it’s based is enormous and conveys a powerful message. The scarf gorgeous — many colors, which means it goes with everything — and a lovely silk, lightweight and drapey— I just love it!
