Stanley Mouse, The Summer of Love Experience - Art, Fashion, and Rock and Roll, 2017
Open-Edition Giclee Print. Unsigned.
Legendary artist Stanley Mouse is best known for his bold, pioneering work creating the iconic art that has graced rock posters and album covers for such noted acts as the Grateful Dead, Jefferson Airplane, and Janis Joplin. Working in San Francisco during the 1960s, an era marked by social revolution, political passion, and musical innovation, he designed graphics that borrowed from both the elegance of Art Nouveau and the energy of Pop art. Mouse went on to explore fine art, taking up oil painting and classical art forms. This exclusive artwork was created by Mouse to honor the 50th anniversary of the Summer of Love and the commemorative exhibition at the de Young museum in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park.
This print is an individually produced, high-resolution, high-fidelity, high tech reproduction done on a special large format printer, and printed on cotton rag paper.
