Judy Chicago Through the Flower 2 1000-Piece Jigsaw Puzzle

Experience Through the Flower 2 piece by piece with our 1000 piece jigsaw puzzle that is exclusive to the de Young Museum Store. In the early 1970's Judy Chicago's work focused on transforming her abstract iconography to more clearly express her experiences as a woman. Chicago's painting, Through the Flower 2, 1973, expanded her previously developed "central core" imagery, now depicted as moving "through the flower;" a symbol of moving beyond the constraints of the construct of femininity. The pulsing and vibrating petals surround a center of pastel hues that fade into each other, applied using Chicago's signature sprayed acrylic technique. Finished puzzle measures 19 x 28.75 in.

The de Young museum in San Francisco celebrates pioneering feminist artist Judy Chicago with a retrospective spanning from the 1960s to the present. The exhibition includes around 150 works and related archival material that chart the boundary-pushing path of Chicago whose lifelong fight against the erasure of women's achievement and creativity have changed the course of history.
