Calder-Picasso Exhibition T-Shirt

This exclusive exhibition t-shirt features a photography of Alexander Calder's sculpture La Grande Vitesse (1:5 intermediate maquette), created in 1969 and Pablo Picasso's Tête de femme (Head of a Woman), created at the end of 1962. 100% cotton, unisex fit.

The exhibition Calder-Picasso at the de Young museum presents a compelling visual conversation centering around the two artists’ exploration of the void, or the absence of space, which both defined from the figure through to abstraction. Calder and Picasso wanted to present or represent non-space, whether by giving definition to a subtraction of mass, as in Calder’s sculpture or by expressing contortions of time, as in Picasso’s portraits.

    Text Overkill, Paper Thin Material

I was somewhat disappointed with this purchase. No problem with the front-side design and graphic artwork (loved it!); however, my preference would have been to not include the "bill-board-like" text description of the artists on the back of the shirt. Too much unnecessary detail. The museum’s name alone was just fine. My second issue, is the relative thinness of the T-Shirt’s material. When i held it up to the light, i could almost see through it. I expected the material to be at least a heavier gauge of cotton. This would be fine to wear in the tropics, but in a milder climate with low humidity it would be chilly. Also, there may be an issue with the shirt’s longevity after a number of washings

    Nicest quality T-shirt EVER

The quality of the actual shirt is amazing and the printing is very well-done. I love wearing it to sleep in because it is so soft.
