Product Description

Painted in 1851, The Bridesmaid is a fine example of the almost photographic quality favored by Millais during this period. Its style stands in contrast to that of The Farmer’s Daughter, painted around 1863; the latter’s bolder, more expressive brushwork is evidence of the shift in style Millais underwent in the 1860s. This folio contains 5 each of 2 full-color blank notecards with envelopes in a decorative cover. Measures 5 x 7 in.
