Ambrosius Bosschaert (Dutch, 1573–1621) Bouquet of Flowers on a Ledge, 1619 Ambrosius Bosschaert the Elder was a pioneer of Dutch still-life painting. He made drawings of individual flowers, then painted them together in one symmetrical arrangement, regardless of blooming seasons. His small, brightly colored “flower portraits” feature meticulous detail, scientific accuracy, and exuberant compositions. Comes in a decorative box with acetate lid. Printed in full color on recycled paper with soy based inks. Contains 10 cards (blank inside) with soft, white envelopes. Cards measure 3.5 x 5 in. Box measures 4 x 5.5 x .8 in.
