William H. Hays’s prints are layered mosaics of carved shapes, carefully fitted into compositions that conjure a sense of mood and place dear to the heart of the artist. He uses rich colors and textures in these intimate prints. As a teenager, he began painting in watercolor. He pursued art and earned a degree in sculpture from the University of Alaska. He then moved to Vermont and concentrated on oil painting, primarily landscapes. In 2007 he began learning the process of making linocut prints and has worked exclusively in this medium since 2012. His work has been shown in regional and national exhibitions, and can be found in private collections around the world. Printed on recycled paper. Inside Message: Season's Greetings.
