Although recognized for both abstract and figuration, Richard Diebenkorn (1922-1993) is most celebrated for the artworks he made in Ocean Park between 1966 and 1988. In addition to the 650 paintings spanning his career, Diebenkorn produced a vast and sophisticated body of works on paper. This volume reveals the importance of these drawing in the Ocean park period and, with the aid of documentary photographs, highlights pertinent aspects of the artist's studio spaces and working processes.
