Bring the charm of the Arts & Crafts era to your home with this beautiful ceramic Saguaro Green Motawi Tile, based on Frank Lloyd Wright's interpretation of a desert landscape. In 1927, Wright submitted a series of cover designs for Liberty Magazine. All four designs were rejected by the editors at the time who deemed them too radical and the covers were never published. Initially disregarded, this intricate image was later transformed into a stained-glass feature of Arizona's famous Biltmore Hotel lobby.
Motawi tiles are made with a custom mix of clays and pressed from original plaster molds. Every tile is hand-glazed and embossed on the back for authenticity. At approximately 5/8 inches thick, every tile has a notch in the back for hanging unframed. Made in the USA. To clean, wipe with a damp cloth using mild soap. Ceramic. Measures 6 x 8 x .25 in.
