Floral motifs, associated with femininity, have a long history in Chinese decorative arts and textiles and appear frequently in couturier Guo Pei’s designs. For her 2015 collection, Garden of Soul, Guo Pei cites the Chinese saying, “There is a kingdom in a flower; a wisdom in a leaf.” She further explains, “I always find the power of nature fascinating, especially when the flowers are blossoming,” and draws comparisons between the human soul and gardens and their mutual need to be nurtured. This exclusive porcelain dessert plate set features details from the Garden of Soul collection and was created in celebration of the exhibition Guo Pei: Couture Fantasy at the Legion of Honor museum in San Francisco. This set of two round porcelain plates feature a gold fillet and comes beautifully gift boxed for easy gift giving. Hand washing is recommended. Measures 8 in. in diameter.
