Maria Amalia of Bourbon Salad Plate

This wonderful ceramic plate from Ceramiche Siciliane Ruggeri is hand-made and features hand-painted decorations depicting the local landscape, foods, and traditions of Sicily, Italy. Honoring Princess Maria Amalia of Bourbon-Two Sicilies (1818-1857), an Italian cadet branch of the Spanish Bourbons that ruled Southern Italy and Sicily for more than a century in the 18th and 19th centuries, this plate features a beautiful pattern mimicking the ocean's waves. This vibrant plate is perfect as a set of four or mix and match for a bold and eclectic statement. Founded by Salvatore Ruggeri, Ceramiche Sicilane Ruggeri maintains the ancient tradition of ceramics in Sicily and fosters an environment where young students can learn the art and pass it on to future generations of Sicilians. Measures 8.5 x 8.5 in.
