Butterfield Pottery is a fusion of potter and painter, working together producing handmade pottery. The quintessential thing about their work is the atmospheric effects of iron in oxygen reduction at high temperature. Many layers of oxides give the brushwork a painterly depth as oxides melt into the glaze on the very edge of melting down.
