Motawi polychrome tiles are striking individual art pieces as much as functional tile installation accents. Early-20th-century English architect Mackay Hugh Baillie Scott designed needlepoint patterns for his wife, Florence and Motawi Tiles decided to turn one of them into an art tile. Motawi tiles are made with a custom mix of clays and pressed from original plaster molds. Every tile is hand-glazed and embossed on the back for authenticity. At approximately 5/8 inches thick, every tile has a notch in the back for hanging unframed. Made in the USA. To clean, wipe with a damp cloth using mild soap. Ceramic. Measures 4 x 8 in.
