The California Palace of the Legion of Honor was founded in 1924 by Adolph B. and Alma de Bretteville Spreckels. Located in Lincoln Park in San Francisco overlooking the Golden Gate, the Legion of Honor has provided access to priceless art for nearly 100 years. Today, it houses European painting, sculpture, and decorative arts; ancient art; contemporary art; and one of the largest collections of prints and drawings in the country.
