The butter daisy is a flowering plant celebrated for its abundance of small daisy-like flowers. For this stunning brooch, the leaves and twigs of the brooch are cast in hand patinated bronze and accented with 24K gold plated flowers, embellished with gold leaf and amber-colored cast glass. This unique jewelry is made by creating molds directly from botanical elements in a process similar to lost-wax casting. While traditional lost-wax casting begins with a hand-carved model of wax, Michael Michaud instead uses an actual leaf, branch or flower in place of the wax model. Michael Michaud Jewelry is handcrafted in New York, NY, and is renowned for its beauty and workmanship. Measures 2 x .97 in.
