This handmade hexagonal plate features traditional ceramic motifs, designs, and colors based on the Fayoum Oasis region, which lies two hours south of Cairo, Egypt and consists of several villages and cities that boasts many lakes, canals, and palm trees. Known for its rich clay sources, the Fayoum Oasis was not the only region creating pottery in Egypt, but is the only region that still retains some of its ancient pottery making techniques such as the conical bowl form.
