Stylizing such an intricate flower as an iris proved tricky. Nawal Motawi mingled visual cues from multiple Arts & Crafts-period renderings to arrive at this design. Like the flower, this iris is more declarative than demure. Motawi tiles are made with a custom mix of clays and pressed from original plaster molds. Every tile is hand-glazed and embossed on the back for authenticity. At approximately 5/8 inches thick, every tile has a notch in the back for hanging unframed. Made in the USA.
