The Legion of Honor, a magnificent Beaux-arts building was modeled after the neoclassical Palais de la Légion d’Honneur in Paris. The museum, designed by George Applegarth, opened in 1924 on a bluff in San Francisco’s Lincoln Park overlooking the Golden Gate. Celebrating its hundredth anniversary in 2024-2025, the Legion of Honor showcases European painting, sculpture, decorative arts, ancient art, graphic arts, and contemporary art. Keep dry or out of the sun with this charming umbrella, featuring a wooden handle and a collidescope of the facade of the Legion of Honor on it's panels with a bright blue sky.
