Draped in a cultural fusion of colors, patterns, and textures, Pacita Abad’s L.A. Liberty shines a kaleidoscopic light on the melting pot that is America. Abad was born in the Philippines but escaped its political turmoil by emigrating to San Francisco. Her evolution as an artist and citizen of the world would involve living on six continents and visiting more than 60 countries, where she was influenced by mixed-media textile arts, Indigenous artforms, and the intricacies of marginalized communities. A woman of color, her fierce creative gaze was focused by her investment in sociopolitical justice and a love for humanity. Celebrate the many unique blends of color, pattern, and texture in Abad’s works as you ponder the ideals of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Contains 20 blank notecards (5 each of 4 designs) with envelopes in a decorative box. Printed in full color on recycled paper with soy based inks. Cards measure 5 x 7 in.
