The inspiration for this bookmark is a woodblock print by Utagawa Hiroshige, Asakusa Ricefields and Torinomachi Festival, No. 101 from One Hundred Famous Views of Edo. As an artist, he captured time and mood with brilliant minimalism, a dawn sky, a solitary cat, rice fields, Mt. Fuji in the distance, and a woman’s clothing. And he is witty, with a foreground of wallpaper of birds and background of flying birds. Finished with solid brass, electro-plated with non-tarnishing silver finish and giclee print. Measures 1.5 x 3 in.
