The Castellani were a family of goldsmiths, collectors, antique dealers, and potters who created a business "empire" active in Rome during the 18th and 19th centuries. Castellani’s 19th-century jewelry in the MFA Boston’s collection inspired this stunning piece. Using ancient techniques such as granulation and twisted wirework, the Castellani firm re-created the look of Etruscan jewelry. These petite pewter earrings feature a gold-colored finish and a size perfect for everyday wear, making it easy to add a touch of Etruscan style to any occasion. Finished with French wires. Made in the USA. Measures .75 in.
